Paolo and Stephanie met at a piano festival in Boswil (near Zürich), Switzerland, in 2008 and started to collaborate on a four-hands piano project dedicated to classic jazz, preparing arrangements of songs from the swing era, as well as drawing from the ragtime and blues repertoire. Following the 2012 release of their first album, Two for One, they have been invited to many festivals and events in the United States, Europe, and Japan. Their second CD, Sentimental Journey (2014), shows their commitment to the formula of four-hands duets on one piano, rarely used in jazz. They recently released two new recordings, Double Trio Live 2015, and Double Trio Always (2016), with the classic jazz trio setting (piano, bass, and drums), but with two pianists instead of one.
They have performed in a variety of venues in the United States and in Europe, including the Sacramento Music Festival; the West Coast Ragtime Festival in Sacramento; the Monterey Dixieland Jazz Festival, the San Diego Jazz Festival, the Kobe Jazz Street Festival in Kobe, Japan; the Edinburgh Jazz & Blues Festival in Edinburgh, Scotland; the KIG Dixieland Festival in Dresden, Germany; the Ascona Jazz Festival in Ascona, Switzerland; the Bohém Ragtime & Jazz Festival in Kecskemét, Hungary; Teatro Dal Verme Milano, Jazzland Wien, Bülach Jazz Club, Jazz Bistro in Toronto, and other jazz clubs.

Paolo Alderighi e Stephanie Trick si sono conosciuti nel 2008 al festival pianistico di Boswil (Svizzera) e nel 2010 hanno iniziato a collaborare ad un progetto a quattro mani dedicato al jazz classico, proponendo arrangiamenti originali di brani della Swing Era, Ragtime, Blues e Stride Piano. In seguito alla pubblicazione del loro primo CD insieme, Two for One (2012), sono stati invitati a vari jazz festival in America, Europa e Giappone. Il secondo album insieme, Sentimental Journey (2014), dimostra l’impegno nella formula del quattro mani su una tastiera, molto utilizzata nella musica classica ma alquanto rara nel jazz. Hanno recentemente pubblicato due nuovi lavori discografici, Double Trio Live (2015) e Double Trio Always (2016), con il classico organico del trio jazz (pianoforte, contrabbasso e batteria) ma con due pianisti invece che uno.

Paolo Alderighi è nato a Milano, si è diplomato in pianoforte al Conservatorio di Milano nel 2000 sotto la guida di Maria Gloria Ferrari e laureato all’Università Bocconi in Economia per le arti, la cultura e la comunicazione nel 2005. Si è esibito in tutta l’Europa, negli Stati Uniti, in Asia, Australia e Africa, collaborando con i migliori musicisti di jazz classico.
Stephanie Trick, nata a San Francisco e cresciuta a St. Louis, è considerata la “rising star” dello Stride Piano. Si è laureata in Musica all’Università di Chicago ed è invitata nei principali festival di Ragtime, Boogie Woogie e Swing negli Stati Uniti e in Europa.
